Hold special Assembly session: Stalin
The Opposition DMK demanded convening a Special Assembly Session immediately. In a statement, DMK Working President and the Leader of the Opposition M K Stalin urged Chief Minister O Panneerselvam to call for an all-party meeting immediately and convene a special Assembly session on Friday itself to take all legal steps to hold jallikattu.

“The government should come out with a new set of guidelines on Jallikattu and adopt in the Special Assembly session,” he said. With Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually indicating his government’s inability to promulgate an ordinance to allow jallikattu, DMK termed it as “regrettable” and said if the Chief Minister had taken an all-party delegation to meet him, the feelings of the people could have been expressed better.
