PMK asks Chief Minister to reply to former Chief Secretary’ charges
Following the press meet of the ex-chief secretary Rama Mohana Rao, the PMK founder Ramadoss demanded the Chief Minister to answer the queries raised by the official.
Chennai
“The Chief Minister should explain the position taken by the state in respect with the raids conducted at the secretariat and Rama Mohana Rao’s cabin. As the ex-CS claims that such raids would have not been possible if the former CM Jayalalithaa was alive and the present government did not try to stop it, the incumbent Chief Minister should clarify all the doubts in public mind and his stoic silence in this matter would only strengthen such doubts,” Ramadoss said.
At the same time, condemning the senior official for the interview, Ramadoss said it would be a fit case for attracting disciplinary action. He should be arrested soon as he would influence the authorities and try to tamper with evidence, he said. “Also the official has openly challenged the government by claiming that he still holds the Chief Secretary post,” Ramadoss noted.
“By claiming that he had been nurtured by the late chief minister J Jayalalithaa, the former chief secretary was trying to fuel political controversy and divert attention on him,” he charged. The PMK founder also blamed the I-T department for not releasing a report regarding the raids conducted in Rama Mohana Rao’s premises.
“At least hereafter, they should release a report and must not desist from further investigation,” he said. Commenting on the raids, the national secretary of the BJP, H Raja said, “The I-T department shall conduct raids anywhere without obtaining consent from the state government. If the raids were politically motivated, significant amount of ornaments and documents would not have been seized from the official’s premises.”
Earlier in the day, Rama Mohana Rao interacted with the press and blamed the Centre and state for the raids.
