58 sovereigns, cash burgled in two incidents
58 sovereigns of gold jewels along with silver jewels and cash were burgled at two different incidents at Madurai.

In the first incident, house of a retired BSNL employee was burgled. The victim, Sangaiah and his wife had gone to Madurai on Wednesday afternoon to visit his relatives. When he returned in the night he was shocked to find his front door open. When he went inside, he found that his bureau was open and his jewels and cash were missing. He informed the police who carried out enquiries. He told them that he had lost 45.5 sovereigns of gold, some silver and cash. Tallakulam police have booked a case. Â
Similarly the house of a Bank employee was also burgled at K.Pudhur in Madurai on Wednesday. Ramkumar and his wife, a teacher had left for work in the morning. His wife was shocked to find the front door open in the evening. She found jewels and cash were missing. The couple informed the police who carried out investigations. Police found that 12.5 sovereigns of gold jewels were burgled. Â Tallakulam police have booked a case and are in search of the burglars.Â
