Demonetisation has destabilised economy: Thol Thirumavalavan

Addressing a press conference, Tirumavalavan said the initiative has affected the common man. About 100 people have died so far due to various hardships they had been subjected to. It has become a common sight to see people standing in long-winding queues in front of ATMs and banks as cash is not easily available. 

The Prime Minister had announced that the move of demonetisation was to get rid of black money. However, a huge amount of money in the new Rs.2000 notes are being stacked and recovered now besides huge quantity of gold. This clearly shows that Narendra Modi’s effort  had doubled stacking of black money, he said and has not actually served its purpose. The VCK would organise a conference in Puducherry on December 28 to protect the constitution and to highlight the sufferings of the people due to demonetisation, Tirumavalavan said. He also added that like-minded party leaders G Ramakrishnan and Mutharasan will be invited for the conference.
