A discussion meeting of the members of association was conducted with DRM Atul Kumar Agarwal. During the meet, all the participating members put forth various demands including availability of railway insurance schemes for all passengers. They said, the insurance scheme with a premium of 92 paise is available only to passengers booking tickets online since August 31. They demanded that the scheme should benefit all the passengers as only then, it would serve the purpose.Â
However, the DRM said that it is the policy decision from Ministry of Railways and the divisional level officials can do nothing over it. Still, the members demanded to forward their grievance to the ministry. The members also demanded to install a horn in the middle of the train as there are only two available in front and in rear side of the trains. This move would help to avert accidents.
