Urban district units urge Sasikala to lead AIADMK

The district urban unit which met in the party office led by former minister M Paranjothi, condoled the demise of Jaya and passed a resolution in this regard. They stated that they are yet to come out of the shock of the demise of their leader. Meanwhile, the AIADMK unit passed another resolution appealing to Sasikala to lead the party. The resolution read that Sasikala was with their leader for more than 36 years during the highs and lows of her life. She has always been giving timely advise to the late Chief Minister.  So, it is apt that ‘ Chinnamma’ (Sasikala) should lead the party and guide the crores of party cadre, the resolution read. The former minister Paranjothi read out the resolutions and the members passed it. They said that the resolution would be forwarded to the party high command stating that the Tiruchy unit backs the decision of making Sasikala, the General Secretary of the party. Similar resolutions were passed in Pudukkottai, Thanjavur, Tiruvarur, Nagapattinam, Karur, Perambalur and Ariyalur.

Cadre builds temple for the late CM AIADMK cadre and former party whip of City Corporation has constructed a temple for the late CM Jayalalithaa in an area of 130 sq ft at a cost of Rs. 1. 50 lakh at Mela Veedhi in Konganeswarar temple in Thanjavur. He has placed a bust-size bronze idol of the leader in the sanctum santorum with her famous slogan “Makkalal Naan Mak kalukkaka Naan ’ which is expected to be inaugurated by the Rajya Sabha MP district secretary Vaithilingam.

M Swaminathan, former council member represented Ward 18 and was serving as the party whip in the corporation. He came out with the idea of building a temple, ‘ Puratchi Thalaivi Amma Alayam ’, for hisleader J Jayalalithaa whom he admired a lot. After participating in her funeral in Chennai, Swaminathan began the construction from December 7 and he has almost completed it.  He has also ordered for the bronze statue at Swamimalai. He hopes to receive it in a month. “I have planned to install the statue in the sanctum sanctorum on February 24, the birthday of my beloved leader”, Swaminathan said. Now, he has placed a 5X4 portrait with teak wood work temporarily. “I am also planning to install portraits of Anna and MGR besides the picture,” he added.

MSM Anandan seeks action against woman for spreading rumours Former Forest Minister and incumbent Tirupur City Secretary of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) MSM. Anandan petitioned the Tirupur City Police on Monday night, seeking action against a woman who allegedly spread messages on the social media with the intent of tarnishing his image and relationship with the party.

Messages with the name of the former minister are doing its rounds in the social mediaWhatsApp) over the last few days. The messages in Tamil with his name at the bottom raises doubts over the death of former Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa who passed away on December 5 and appealed to Sasikala to release some videos of treatment given to the former Chief Minister. 

In a complaint from Anandan that was submitted to the Deputy Commissioner of Law and Order (in-charge) S Saravanan, by his loyalist, the former minister claimed that he came to know about misuse of his name through fellow functionaries. This had caused him mental agony. Anandan said, a woman Jayamani was responsible for the rumour. He claims that the message was first sent from her mobile phone. Saravanan told DT Next that the message that was spread under the name of Anandan was posted onFacebook by Mathivanan. “The person who intended to tarnish the name of the former minister had used the message and replaced the name of Mathivanan with Anandan,” he said.
