DUBAI: The out-of-form India will face Afghanistan in an inconsequential Asia Cup ‘Super 4’ match at the Dubai International Stadium here on Thursday.

Both teams head into the match on the back of successive defeats, having gone down to Pakistan and Sri Lanka in their first two games. Now that India is out of the competition and with the T20 World Cup in Australia not far away, the Rohit Sharma-led team may make a few changes to its playing eleven.

It will be interesting to see if wicketkeeper-batter Dinesh Karthik makes his way back into the team, after having sat out in the last two matches. While India will be disappointed at not making it to the final, it would hope to close out its Asia Cup campaign on a positive note. Meanwhile, the Mohammad Nabi-led Afghanistan, which suffered a close defeat against Pakistan in Sharjah on Wednesday, would have the same objective.
