IPL 2020: Chennai Super Kings’ captain MS Dhoni honoured by the franchise during pre-season lunch

Chennai Super Kings franchise handed out special awards to its players including MS Dhoni on Thursday during the pre-season luncheon. For his incredible record of scoring 416 runs from 15 matches at 44.20 including three fifties, MS Dhoni was honoured with a special award. Dhoni led CSK to the final last year which they lost against Mumbai Indians.

After the event, CSK’s official Twitter handle posted pictures from the event. The photo was captioned, "Our customary pre-season dinner turned into a memorable lunch this time and our Lions walked away with some Super Duper Awards. #Thala Dhoni for leading the team with the willow and scoring the most runs for the Super Kings in IPL 2019."

Sai Kishore and Piyush Chawla, who are making their CKS debut this season, also received their yellow jerseys from ‘captain cool’ and Fleming.

Left-arm spinner Sai Kishore was bagged by CSK at his base price of Rs 20 lakh during the IPL auction in December last year while Chawla was brought on board for a whopping Rs 6.75 crore.
