CFC hands new deals to three youngsters

The trio of youngsters will be a part of Chennaiyin’s 25-man squad for the Indian Super League (ISL) 2020-21 in Goa. While Remi already has two senior CFC appearances to his name, Samik and Aman have been promoted from the Chennaiyin ‘B’ team to the first team.
With the addition of the triumvirate, the two-time title-winner will have five developmental players (those born on or after January 1, 2000) in its ranks. The other two in the quintet are forward Rahim Ali and midfielder Abhijit Sarkar. “Chennaiyin has helped me improve and develop immensely. It has been an amazing experience at the club so far. I take great pleasure in continuing with CFC, for the seasons to come,” said Remi in a statement issued by the club on Thursday.
Young custodian Samik, on his part, said: “Chennaiyin has given me a platform to grow. In my time here thus far, I have improved as a player and as a human being. CFC is a second family to me and I am very happy to stay here for long.” Aman expressed excitement after signing a new deal with Chennaiyin. “I feel this is the right place for me to grow. I have always dreamt about representing CFC in ISL. So, it is now time to work harder and give my best.” Samik and Aman had loan spells at AIFF development side Indian Arrows in I-League last season, while Remi was part of CFC’s ISL 2019-20 contingent.
