Siddharth powers Free Lancers to success

KN Siddharth (120) struck a century as Free Lancers Cricket Club got the better of TV Sivaprakasam Memorial Sports Club by three wickets in a TNCA Sixth Division ‘B’ match held recently. Batting first, TV Sivaprakasam Memorial made a good total of 220 for six in its stipulated overs. Chasing more than seven runs per over, Free Lancers remarkably got the job done with 26 balls to spare. Siddharth was its chief contributor, smashing a 58-ball 120, a knock which was studded with five fours and 11 maximums. In a Fifth Division ‘B’ contest, A Muthukumaran’s (5/23) five-wicket haul went in vain as Tangedco lost to Young Men’s Cricket Club by 56 runs. Sai Ashwin Shekar’s (134) effort also wasn’t enough as his side Varsity Occasionals suffered an eight-run defeat at the hands of Presidency College Athletic Association in a Sixth Division ‘A’ duel.
