Vijay’s Warrier runs through Swaraj

Batting first, Vijay was bowled out for 297 in 82 overs, courtesy of left-arm spinner M Silambarasan’s (7/83) seven-wicket haul. Replying to Vijay’s first innings total, Swaraj fell like a pack of cards, with Kerala-based Warrier being the wreaker-in-chief. The speedster, who opened his account in the very first ball, got a six-wicket haul and conceded only 18 runs.

At the IITM – Chemplast Ground, opener M Kaushik Gandhi (165) and Baba Aparajith (165) smashed centuries as Jolly Rovers CC piled up a mammoth opening innings total of 596 for seven against AG’s Office RC. While the opening batter’s knock was laced with 13 fours and four sixes, the number three batsman’s innings included 12 fours and four sixes.

Elsewhere, S Radhakrishnan (154) hit a ton to guide Globe Trotters SC to 417 all-out against Madras CC. The centurion’s knock had 20 shots to the fence.
