Kerala thrashes Hyderabad
Kerala Blasters FC ended its winless run in the Indian Super League (ISL) 2019-20 with a thumping 5-1 success against bottom club Hyderabad FC at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium here on Sunday.
Bartholomew Ogbeche scored a brace, while defender Vlatko Drobarov, Raphael Messi Bouli and Seityasen Singh netted a goal each for Kerala, which picked up its first win since its opening day win against two-time champion ATK. Bobo was the lone scorer for visitor Hyderabad that suffered its eighth defeat in the competition.
With the easy victory, Kerala moved to seventh on the table with 11 points from as many fixtures. HFC, managed by Phil Brown, remains at rock bottom of the pile, collecting just five points from 11 matches. Hyderabad opened the scoring but went into the half-time break trailing 1-4. The gulf only widened in the second period as it lost 1-5.
