TNCA Fifth Division: Mani stars in Friends XI’s win
S Manikandan (7/36) bagged a seven-wicket haul as Friends XI got the better of Youth Centre Cricket Club by 45 runs in the TNCA Fifth Division ‘A’ contest here.

Batting first, Friends was bowled out for 184 in 48.5 overs courtesy Mohammed S Bhagat’s great spell. Bhagat got five wickets for just 27 runs to put Youth Centre in the ascendancy. But Manikandan came up with a match-winning performance in the second innings, running riot with the ball.
His effort helped Friends skittle out its rival for 139 in 45.2 overs, giving it an easy victory. In another clash, off-spinner S Sundararajan (5/49) scalped five wickets to guide Netaji Cricket Club to a six-wicket success over GemsCricket Club.

Gandhi CC 119 all-out in 46.1 overs (V Tharun Kumar 4/33, M Dinakaran 4/26) lost to Kamyuth Club 120 for 7 in 35.4 overs (M Dinakaran 43*, M Sathish Kumar 3/51, Balram Krishnan 3/43).
