TNPL: Karaikudi hopes to stop unbeaten Dindigul
iDream Karaikudi Kaalai has left itself with a lot of ground to cover after suffering two crushing defeats in the Sankar Cement Tamil Nadu Premier League Season 4.

Its challenge only gets tougher as it runs into second-placed Dindigul Dragons at the ICL Sankar Nagar Ground here on Monday. Karaikudi went down meekly in its previous two matches, losing by 110 runs to VB Kanchi Veerans and by 54 runs to Chepauk Super Gillies. It languishes at the bottom half of the table with just two points.
After a scintillating knock in its opener, Kaalai captain Anirudha Srikkanth hasn’t been able to deliver his best. A lot will depend on him as Karaikudi looks to get back on track. Dindigul, the only unbeaten side in the eight-team competition, is on top of the standings with six points from three duels. Skipper Ravichandran Ashwin and wicketkeeper Narayan Jagadeesan came good with the bat in the last contest against Tuti Patriots.
DD will be the overwhelming favourite going into the match, but Karaikudi can draw inspiration from its past performances against its rival. In three games, it has won twice and both victories came at the ICL Sankar Nagar Ground.
