Trailing in the first half, World 7 made a great comeback in the final phase to come up trumps. The victor made a strong start to the contest, with Fazel Atrachali getting a waist hold on rival skipper Ajay Thakur in the first raid of the match. The scoreboard read two each at the end of the fourth minute.

Indian 7 began to get a foothold in the clash when Pawan Sehrawat made a strong short block on Mohammad Esmaeil Nabibakhsh. The Bengaluru Bulls lad turned the half in Indian 7’s favour by delivering a ‘Super raid’ in the ninth minute. His effort gave the host a three-point advantage at 9-6.

He came up with another fantastic raid as Indian 7 inflicted the first all-out to go 14-9 ahead. Indian 7 led 20-14 at half-time and made its intentions pretty clear. Right from the start of the second half, World 7 was on top of its game, both offensively and defensively. Jang Kun Lee sent Ajay and Girish Maruti Ernak to the bench in a ‘Do-or-die’ raid, reducing the deficit to four points at 19-23.

Pawan got a ‘Super 10’ in the 31st minute when he slipped out of the hold of the experienced Abozar Mighani. Ravinder Pahal then made a ‘Super tackle’ on Nabibakhsh with a waist hold in the 37th minute to take the score to 29-26. The last three minutes was when the game took a turn. Nabibakhsh helped World 7 take a 32-20 lead, courtesy an all-out in the 39th minute.

Pawan was shouldered with the responsibility of turning the tide, but Jang Kun Lee got an ankle hold in the penultimate raid of the duel.
