High-flying Dragons squares off against spirited Kaalai

Dindigul Dragons has won four matches on the trot after losing the inaugural game while Karaikudi Kaalai completed a hat-trick of wins with the one-wicket victory against Trichy Warriors on Friday. 

After bundling out Trichy Warriors for only 114, Kaalai was expected to finish the match comfortably but its middle order collapsed and it was left to Yo Mahesh, who along with the number 11 batsman, scored the winning run on the penultimate ball. 

The bowling unit of Kaalai is functioning efficiently, and it will have its task cut out against the big-hitting batsmen from Dindigul Dragons. The Kaalai’s batting still heavily relies on its captain, S Anirudha, who has been in a spectacular form but other batsmen will have to step up their game as well.

Dindigul Dragons has its strategy set in place, it bowls first, stifle the opposition with its lead bowlers M Mohammed and Mohan Abhinav. Captain N Jagadeesan guides the chase while R Vivek or NS Chaturved attacks the opposition to seal the glory. The formula has worked four times in a row for the Dragons.

It will be interesting to see how Dindigul Dragons reacts against the quality bowling attack of Karaikudi Kaalai. Kaalai, on the other hand, will look to make the most of Dragons’ weaker bowling unit. The tussle between two formidable teams is assured to produce a high-quality encounter.
