TNCA-Indian Bank women’s trophy from June 15

The new initiative by TNCA will see an exclusive tournament for women which aims to promote and provide further opportunities to develop the budding cricketers. Ever since last year's Women's World Cup, TNCA has been taking steps to create awareness and encourage more participation among women. 

Indian Bank has come forward to sponsor this tournament. The women cricketers have been drafted into six teams, named as: Yellow Challengers, Red Rangers, White Warriors, Blue Avengers, Green Invaders and Silver Strikers. All the teams will play a One Day and a T20 tournament. The tournaments commence on June 15 and conclude on June 30.

Former India cricketer and Chennai Super Kings’ bowling coach, L Balaji, praised the TNCA for the launch of the tournament. “I appreciate the TNCA for initiating a wonderful tournament. The tournament will serve as an ideal platform for the women cricketers in our state. It’s also a noble gesture on the part of Indian Bank to sponsor this event,” said Balaji during the unveiling of the trophies.
