John Memorial All-India Volleyball from March 27

The tournament is conducted by the Nellai Friends Club and Dr Sivanthi Club. The event carries a total cash prize of Rs 5,00,000. 

The winner of the men’s category will receive a cash award of Rs 1,00,000 while the champion in the women’s section will be richer by Rs 75,000. Five best men players in the tournament will have the honour of bagging the ‘Dr Sivanthi Best Player’ award and also receive a cash award of Rs 5,000 each. 

The five best players in the women’s category will be given Annachi P John Best Player award and also a cash prize of Rs 5000 each. The winner of the men’s category will be presented with the Dr Sivanthi Gold Cup while the winner in the women’s event will take home the SNJ Trophy. In all, 15 teams will take part in the tournament, with 11 men’s and 4 women’s teams. The men’s category will be played on a league-cum-knockout basis. 

The women’s final will be held on March 31 and the men’s final will be on April 1. SRM University, which won the men’s title last year, will look to defend its title this time around. The tournament is sponsored by the Daily Thanthi and is co-sponsored by SNJ Group.
