The Chennai Open Golf Championship 2018 will be held between March 1 and 4 at the Madras Gymkhana Club Golf Annexe in Chennai.

123 golfers will be a part of the four-day event, with the field featuring players from countries like Sri Lanka, South Africa, Bangladesh and Australia. Top Indian players like defending champion Mukesh Kumar, Shamim Khan, Syed Saqib Ahmed, Shankar Das and Dharma M are also a part of the playing field.Â
Sri Lankan quartet of Anura Mohana, Mithun Perera, N Thangaraja and K Prabagaran will lead the foreign challenge alongside Australian Kunal Bhashin, Bangladesh’s Md Zamal Hossain and South Africans Albie Hanekom and Romano Saincic.Â
The Tamil Nadu contingent will comprise six members, namely Shivnaren Srinivasan, Sandeep Syal, Ilayaraja C, Arun C, Selvaraj P and Vashishta S Pawar. While the rest of the pack is based in Chennai, Vashishta is from Coimbatore.Â
The tournament involves a total cash purse of Rs 30 lacs. The winner will take home a prize of Rs 4,84,950 lacs while the runner will be richer by Rs 3,34,950 lacs. The third and fourth placed players will receive Rs 1,87,950 lacs and Rs 1,51,950 lacs respectively.Â
