Jeppiaar reigns supreme in All-India Inter-Collegiate Basketball Championship

In the most expected semi-final and final, Jeppiaar Institute of Technology boys overcame the challenge of Mar Ivanios College, Thiruvananthapuram and Loyola College, Chennai respectively. 

The India Blue ace Moin Bek and Daniel Richards shouldered the Jeppiaar team with the timely help of Anand, Vishwa and Shelton. Against Loyola in the final, the acting coach Haribaskar made a few changes in the workouts as well as players. It led the match by two points at the end of the third quarter and won the coveted trophy with the score 71-61 after trailing by 12 points at half-time. 

Daniel Richards of  Jeppiaar Institute of Technology, was adjudged as Most Valuable Player of the tournament.

Scores: Final: Jeppiaar Institute of Technology 71 (Moin Bek 23, Daniel Richards 18, Vishesh 18) beat Loyola, Chennai 61 (Manikandan 15, Baladhaneswar 13, Mukund 13);Semi-final:  Jeppiaar Institute of Technology 80 (Moin Bek 17, Daniel 19, Shelton 11) bt Mar Ivanious 73 (Shami 17, Arun 13).
