Chennai
Bengaluru occupies the second spot on the standings with 11 points after winning seven of its 10 matches and winning both its trump matches. In its last tie on New Year day, the Blasters made short work of Mumbai Rockets.
While everything is looking rosy for the Bengaluru outfit, its opponent, North Eastern Warriors, is at a lowly sixth with only eight points to show for.
The NE Warriors is coming off a bruising defeat to the table topper in Awadhe Warriors and will desperately look to make its way up the table.
HS Prannoy, world number 10 and a key part of Ahmedabad Smash Masters team, addressed the media on Thursday.
His team, currently in third, will face Chennai Smashers on Saturday. And despite the Chennai team lying in seventh, Prannoy didn’t make the mistake of taking his opponent lightly. “It is going to be extremely tough to play against Chennai at its home. So far, it has been a great season where everything went according to plan. Our team is in a good position but we have some tough matches coming up and we are up for the challenge,” said the 25-year-old.
