After a packed final for the Pro Kabaddi League Season 4, the stage is set at the Nehru Indoor Stadium for the big event. “We can accommodate around 4000 spectators at the venue. We are not aware of how many will turn up for the opening game,” the official said as home team Chennai Smashers would not be playing on the opening day.

Commenting on the availability of the practice courts at the venue, he said, “Teams will not be having its training sessions here. Courts have been arranged in other parts of the city and are taken care of by the state association.”

He said a majority of stands are open to the public while a few have been set apart for the contributors to the league. “A few of the stands in the North and East ends have been allocated for the VVIPs. All the others are up for the public.”

“The stadium has been rented to the PBL authorities and they will take care of all the proceedings with regard to hosting matches until Tuesday,” said an official from the State Development Authority of Tamil Nadu (SDAT).

The ticket price per tie ranges from Rs 250 to Rs 800. The organisers hope the presence of top-class talents like PV Sindhu, Saina Nehwal could lure the fans to come for the matches.
