Chennai Smashers meet Delhi Dashers

It is going to be a very crucial tie as Chennai and Delhi are both languishing in the bottom half of the table and a loss here will put a huge dent to their chances of qualifying for the knock-out stages.

Both the sides come into the match at the back of a victory with Chennai registering a 4-3 victory over Mumbai Rockets, while Delhi had routed Hyderabad Hunters 5-0 in their last tie. Each of these teams has the required firepower to take their team past the finish line and their fans would hope that they fire on all cylinders. The most anticipated match of the day would however be the apparent clash between World No.2 PV Sindhu and World No.6 Sung Ji Hyun.

Sindhu who has won both her matches in the season so far is confident of taking Sung Ji and believes that Chennai will go out all guns blazing and look to log in maximum points from the tie. 

“We didn’t start off the season as we would’ve liked to but we are getting back on track. Dashers are in great form and I’m sure it’s going to be a hard-fought contest,” PV Sindhu said before Chennai’s third tie of the season.

 Delhi Dashers’ hopes to a certain extent will also rely on how Sung Ji Hyun fares in the match. Tian Houwei, the lone Chinese in the PBL mix this season, remain confident and upbeat that his team will be able to stop the Chennai juggernaut.

"Everybody in the team is in a great shape and we had some very good performances in our previous match, we will leave no scope against Chennai and will be going all out," Tian said ahead of the clash.
