Three Chennai teams in finals of 11SPORTS Inter-School Table Tennis National Championships
Chennai’s PS Senior Secondary School, SBOA School and Junior College and Maharishi Vidya Mandir SSS called the shots in the third 11SPORTS Inter-School Table Tennis National Championships team events at Vijayawada on Thursday, advancing to the finals in their respective categories.

Sri Kumaran Children's School, (Karnataka), G.D. Goenka Public School (North Bengal), Narayana School (WB), Naihati Narendra Vidyaniketan (WB) and Techo India Group Public School, North Bengal were the other schools who made it to the title round, even as the individual events got under way late in the evening.
PS Senior Secondary School tamed Siliguri Girl's High School (North Bengal) in the semi-finals to set up a clash for the title with Narayana School from West Bengal in the Junior Girls’ category on Saturday.
PS Senior girls began on a losing note, with M. Hansini failing to unravel Subhasree Guna. She succumbed 0-3 (9-11, 6-11, 10-12) to cause a flutter at the stadium, but S. Hrithika maintained her poise and starred in the next three games to take her side through.
She first beat Sayonisha Chaki 3-0 (11-5, 11-6, 11-6), then paired up with Hansini to douse Subhasree Guna & Sirjani Basu 3-1 (14-16, 11-4, 11-6, 11-3). She finally walloped Subhasree Guna (11-5, 11-2, 11-5) to set up an exciting clash on the morrow.
Maharishi Vidya Mandir SSC subdued St. Paul’s High School (Telangana) 3-1 in the Senior Boys to make its way to the final. It too began by conceding the first match, with AP Roopan Santhoesh losing to Anoop Amara 1-3 (10-12, 11-2, 7-11, 13-15).
S Karthikeyan proved to be the star for them, putting down a valiant Yash Chandra 3-2 (11-6, 11-13, 11-4, 7-11,11-4). He and AP Roopan then beat Anoop Amara & Yash Chandra 3-2 (7-11, 11-8, 11-8, 5-11, 11-9) before he completed the rout, walloping Anoop Amara 3-0 (11-7, 11-4, 11-4).
Chennai’s third team, SBOA School and Junior College, came out safely after a bruising encounter with DPS from Uttar Pradesh. Again, Y Vaishnavi lost the first match, going down to Radhapriya Goel 2-3 (9-11, 12-10, 11-9, 6-11, 9-11).
V Vaishnavi, however, beat Mahika Dixit 3-1 (11-6, 9-11, 11-3, 11-4) to keep her side in the contest. M Yazhini & R Soundarya lost the doubles encounter to Radhapriya Goel & Mahika Dixit 0-3 (11-13, 7-11, 5-11) but V Vaishnavi and M Yazhini won their last matches, the former beating Radhapriya Goel 3-1 (10-14, 6-11, 11-9, 11-9) and the latter Mahika Dixit 3-2 (11-7, 11-8, 11-4).
