Nellai Friends bags title
Volleyball was one of the four events that was held on the opening day of the Chief Minister’s Trophy at the Mayor Radhakrishnan Stadium in Chennai.

In all, 14 teams participated in the men’s event while the women’s event consisted of nine teams. Nellai Friends Club bagged the title in the men’s category while Sports Hostel of Excellence took home the trophy in the women’s category.
The former beat Sports Hostel of Excellence 25-15 in the final while the latter got past Dr Sivanthi Club 25-19, 25-22. SHE played a one-sided contest in the semi-final encounter, in which it beat Nellai Friends Club 25-6, 25-15.
