Asian Track and Field Athletes felicitated
Tamil Nadu athletes G Lakshmanan, Arokirajiv and Mohan Kumar, who won medals in the Asian Track and Field Meet in Odisha last month, were felicitated by the Tamil Nadu Athletic Association on Saturday.

G. Lakshmanan won the gold in 5000 and 10000 metres in the Asian Track and Field Meet. Arokiarajiv won a gold (4x400 relay) and a silver (400 metres) in the Asian meet while Mohan Kumar was part of the 4x440 relay team that won the gold in Odisha.
South Zone shooting in Chennai:Â
The ninth edition of the South Zone Shooting Championship in rifle and pistol events will be held at the Police Shooting Range, Veerapuram, Avadi from August 22 to 26. Shooters from TN, AP, Telangana, Kerala, Karnataka, Puducherry and Andaman and Nicobar Islands will participate in the championship. The South Zone Championship is a pre-qualifying event for the National Shooting Championship to be held in Thiruvananthapuram in December this year.
