Safi Alam wins Mohan Ahuja Badminton tournament
Safi Alam of Ranchi and Deyashi Kanjibiliya of East Singhbhum district emerged champion in the men's and women's section of 48th edition of "Mohan Ahuja Badminton tournament", here today.

Alam defeated Kishore Kunal (West Singhbhum) in men’s single event evenly played match before Kunal retired due to injury when the scoreline was 19-21, 21-21.
Deyashi defeated Ranchi’s Manisha Rani Tirkey in a one-sided match 21-4, 21-11 in the women’s single and then 21-09, 21-13 in the Under-19 girl’s single event to emerge champion in both the events.
Joy Chatterjee (Hazaribag) won the boy's under-13 single event. He defeated Rounak Negi (East Singhbhum).
In the boy's under-15 Akash Pandit (Giridih) defeated Joy Chatterjee (Hazaribag) 22-20, 21-16.
Adhya Singh (East Singhbhum) defeated Anushka Parma (East Singhbhum) in the girl's under-13 category.
In the Girls under-15 and 17 single event, Pragya J Bodra (East Singhbhum) defeated her team mate Shali Maurya 27-25, 21-10 and 21-10, 21-14 respectively.
Over 250 shuttlers (men and women) from across the state have taken part in the championship, organized by the Jharkhand Badminton Association (JBA).
