Murugappa hockey from July 27
Defending champion Indian Railways along with Oil and Natural Gas Corporation lead thé two pools in the 91st edition of the all-India MCC Murugappa Gold Cup hockey tournament starting at the Mayor Radhakrishnan stadium here on July 27.

There will be 10 teams divided into two pools. The top two teams from each pool will qualify for the semi-finals to be played on August 5. The final will be on August 6. Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited, Punjab and Sind Bank, Hockey Unit of Tamil Nadu and Hockey Bengaluru join Railways in Pool A. Punjab National Bank, Army XI, Hockey Odisha and Central Secretariat Hockey Team join ONGC in Pool B.
President of MCC Srivatsan Subramaniam said the club is happy to continue its sponsorship with the premier hockey tournament. “MCC will also be hosting two big tennis tournaments in August, “ said Srivatsan.
