The key is to maintain balance as captain and batsman: Indrajith
Ruby Trichy Warriors captain Baba Indrajith said it is important for youngsters to have a proper mindset to succeed in the second season of the Tamil Nadu Premier League which begins at the MA Chidambaram Stadium here on Saturday.

“We have to adapt to the conditions. One game can bring back the momentum. It is important to have the right mindset. It is something similar to how the Tamil Nadu team’s Ranji Trophy performance last year. We didn’t have a great start against Mumbai and against Railways (in the first innings), but then we bounced back. It was a matter of one innings to give a team that winning momentum and that is the key,” Indrajith said.
The explosive batsman felt it was important for him to find a balance between his role as the captain and as a batsman to emerge with flying colours. ““I have learnt a lot from last season. It is important to maintain that balance (between captaincy and batting). If that is there, there will be change in form,” the right-hander added.
The Warriors skipper said it is difficult for players to change their technique but they need to find ways to improve. “It is difficult to do that (change technique). Look at Virat Kohli, he is improving his game without changing technique. We can’t be like Kieron Pollard or AB de Villiers,” he noted.
