    I love warmth of India: Ronaldinho on Premier Futsal

    The Brazilian football genius and Ballon d’Or winner Ronaldinho extended his partnership with Premier Futsal for the next three years and announced the new team owners of the Mumbai 5’s franchise.

    The former FC Barcelona striker said he was elated to be back in the country for the second successive time. “I am very happy to come back to India. And very glad to extend my support for Premier Futsal Season 2.” He also announced the new owners of the Mumbai 5’s franchise the RR Kable group. 

    “I enjoyed and loved playing in India last year and entertaining the audience. I love the food and warmth of Indian people. Premier Futsal has quickly become the biggest futsal event in the world and I am here to support this league in long term and make it a huge success globally,” he added. 

    The World Cup-winning Brazilian encouraged the youth to take up the game on a more passionate level. 

    “Futsal will help the youth and children to gain love for the sport. Let it be futsal or football if you love the game you will pick it up. Futsal will be useful for the youth to develop and hone their skills and this can be used in football too,” concluded the Brazilian great. In another major announcement, Xavier Britto, the chairman of Premier Futsal said the league was going global. 

    “After the enormous success of the first season, the League is set to go international with its second season. We have finalised our talks with Dubai Sports Council and we are happy to take the league on the global platform,” he said. The league is set to kick off on September 15 with 24 matches spread across two weeks. The sixteam league will play each other seven times before the semi-finals and the final will be held on October 1. 

    The league will kick off in Mumbai then will head over to Delhi and Bengaluru before culminating in Dubai, with the Emirates nation hosting both the semi-finals and the final. 

    The former FC Barcelona striker had a short visit last time around only playing two matches as he was the forced to head back home as he was the brand ambassador for the 2016 Paralympics held in Brazil. Before he left Ronaldinho showed his class by scoring five goals for his team Goa 5’s in his debut match against Paul Scohles Bengaluru 5’s.
