Hip injury forces Murray out of exhibition match
Hip injury forces Murray out of exhibition match World number one Andy Murray’s troubled preparation for Wimbledon continued as he has been ruled out of an exhibition match due to a hip problem.
London
The British maestro, who was named top seed at the All England Club, had earlier withdrawn from a warm-up match against Frenchman Lucas Pouille, as well as from the knockabout game for Tim Henman’s charity foundation because of a sore hip. Reflecting on the injury, Murray expressed his disappointment.
“Sadly I won’t be ready to play at Hurlingham on Friday, my hip is still sore and I need to rest it today and likely tomorrow,” he said. Murray will be the defending champion going into the third major of the season.
