Local League: Pradeep sizzles with the ball

Pradeep's team thumped Aththis by nine wickets in the TNCA Thiruvallur District Cricket Association league.

Brief scores: Aththis CC 119 in 36.3 overs (S Sourav 40, L Ashok Kumar 33, S Pradeep 5/35, K Mathan 4/29) lost to Thiruvallur CC 123/1 in 18.1 overs (R Vinoth 61*, V Murugesan 40); SRF RC 147 in 28.4 overs (J P Donald 25, D Alexander David Raj 3/38, G Ganesh 4/40) lost to Wheels India RC 154/4 in 20.4 overs (G Dinesh 39, N Madhan Kumar 38); Sundar CC 92 in 26.4 overs (K Namasivayam 35, T Kapil 3/28) lost to Classic CC 93/6 in 26.2 overs (S L Raja Ganesh 3/23). 

Jeppiaar Engineering College women’s kabaddi team won the 7-Super Kabaddi Association Tournament at Aarani in Thiruvannamalai. In the quarter-final, Jeppiaar beat Thiruvannamalai 28-13 while they got the better of City Police Team, Chennai 32-16 in the semi-finals. In the title clash, Jeppiaar edged Chennai Kabaddi Association 28-27 to win the title. Elsewhere, Jeppiaar Institute of Technology’s hoopsters proved their mettle to retain the Peer Mohamed Basketball Trophy for the third consecutive year.
