City girl shines in School Games meet

Tabitha, a student of Ninth class in Jaigopal Garodia Government Girls School in Virugambakkam has won second place in 100 metres hurdles and 4x100 metres relay.

With the second place finish, in the U-17 category, she is eligible to participate in the international meet in France, provided that she gets through the selection process. 

This is her sixth national medal. Last year, she won the bronze medal in the U-14 category in the 80 meters hurdle and 100 metres relay events at Calicut. She also won the bronze in junior open national meet in 100 metres hurdles in Coimbatore. The same year, Tabitha received a gold medal in 100 metres hurdle at Vishakapatnam, which was a new meet record.
