Sindhu retained by Chennai Smashers; Hyderabad Hunters pick Marin
Indian badminton’s poster girl P V Sindhu was retained by Chennai Smashers while Olympics gold medallist Carolina Marin of Spain has joined Hyderabad Hunters for Rs 61.5 lakh at the Premier Badminton League (PBL) 2017 auction while Awadhe Warriors retained Saina Nehwal and Srikanth Kidambi.

PBL 2017 is scheduled for a January 1 start next year. It will be a 15-day league taking place across state-of-theart stadiums in India, including Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Chennai, New Delhi and Lucknow. Chennai Smashers have retained the husband-wife duo of Chris Adcock and Gabby Adcock (both for Rs 26 lakh), while former Commonwealth Games men’s singles medallist Parupalli Kashyap finds himself in the squad (at Rs. 8 lakh). The surprise pick for Chennai was the state’s reigning champion Ramya Tulasi.
