TNSA triumph in Nainital
The Tamil Nadu Sailing Club won the Governor’s Cup regatta in Nainital last week. This regatta, held in the team racing format, was an initiative of the yacht owners of Nainital, the Uttarkhand Governor and the state tourism department at the Nainital Yacht Club. The host team, Nainital Yacht Club (NTYC) made it to the final race against TNSA.

The atmosphere was electric. The two finalists, the NTYC and the Tamil Nadu Sailing Association (TNSA), had four boats each. The final race between saw wind conditions change constantly on the lake, requiring great skill with adjusting the sails — and TNSA led from the beginning. With the home team in the fray, pulses raced on the viewing deck.
TNSA which had set the stage winning all its races into the final, managed to hold out to win the final race with only two teams managing to finish within the stipulated time.
