India have made their way into the Under 18 Asia Cup 2016 final after defeating Pakistan with a 3-1 score line on Thursday in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
Dhaka
The India hockey team drew first blood in the 7th minute of the match with a goal from Shivam Anand to go 1-0 up. Both the teams had scored a high number of goals in the group stages so an attacking encounter was expected. Three minutes from the end of the half India doubled their tally with a goal from Dilpreet Singh.
India continued their dominance with the start of the second half and rightly got their third goal of the game, through Nilam Sanjeep Xess.Â
Pakistan succumbed to the pressure, and two of their players were penalised for technical fouls in the latter stages of the game. They managed to grab a goal back in the 63rd minute, but it proved to be too little too late as India held on to take a 3-1 victory.
Kunwardilraj Singh was presented with the man of the match.
Now India will now take on hosts Bangladesh in the final of the tournament which will be held tomorrow.
