The anthem composed by Thaman is titled ‘Aataiku ready ah’ and was sung by actor Silambarasan. Speaking about the league, Sehwag said the TNPL promises an exciting contest. “It is a nice way to move forward. With the league being telecast on TV, the whole country gets a chance to watch these youngsters in action. It would also be a good opportunity for youngsters to excel on a platform as this,” Sehwag said ahead of the logo launch. Sehwag said the league would offer a host of learning opportunities to the young talents.
“The players get a chance to mingle with the likes of Hayden, Bevan, Klusener etc and can interact with them from close quarters. The legends can share their experiences and it would be an enlightening journey for the district players,” he added.
The 37-year-old batsman said he isn’t interested in taking up the position of a batting coach for India and added Anil Kumble is perfect for a coaching role. “He is the most positive person I have come across. His never-give-up attitude is the best and is a perfect fit for the job,” Sehwag added. He said Virat Kohli is the best example of excelling using both power and technique in cricket and added that the new leagues aren’t just batsman friendly. “We have seen how Ashwin, Bumrah and the likes of Bhuvaneshwar excel. It is all about performance and both batsmen and bowlers get an equal chance,” he added.
