In Subramanian Badrinath, the Karaikudi franchise in the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL), has the most experienced T20 player the state has come across. The franchise, which has roped Robin Singh as its coach, is a side with a lot of new faces and according to Badrinath, it has the right mixture of youth and experience. “We had our first get together on Thursday and I get positive vibes in the team. We are a new-look team with a lot of U-19 players and the mood in the camp is upbeat,” the 35-year-old batsman said. With a youthful side, Badrinath said the pressure of expectations is absent. “We do not have big names. We start as the underdogs and it would be a tremendous achievement if we do well. I am looking forward to working with Robin Singh, a cricketer who has been my role model, and the U-19 players and we hope for the camaraderie to set-in quick,” he added.
