Bangar likely to be re-appointed as India'a batting coach
After completing a successful tenure as the batting coach for Team India in the recently concluded Zimbabwe tour, former all-rounder Sanjay Bangar is all set to be re-appointed for the top post for the upcoming West Indies tour.

According to sources, a decision in this regard has already been taken in the Board of Control for Cricket in India's (BCCI) annual conclave, which ended recently in Dharamshala.
Earlier under Bangar's tenure, the national side emerged victorious in the Asia Cup T20 and made to the semi-finals of the 2015 ICC cricket World Cup and the 2016 World T20.
During the four-day conclave, the board had also decided to hold a a mini-Indian Premier League (IPL) in the month of September, this year.
However, the dates and venue of the tournament, which will be conducted within a time-span of two weeks, is yet to be declared.
The mini-IPL, which will see the participation of all the eight franchises, could be conducted either in the UAE (United Arab Emirate) or US. However, there is a possibility that the board could take the cash-rich league to the US as it is capable of drawing huge crowds, the sources added.
It has also been witnessed that a charity tournament named as 'Cricket All-Stars', which was organised last year by Shane Warne and Sachin Tendulkar, pulled thousands of fans. However, the only hurdle coming in the hosting of the event in US could be the difference in the time-zones when compared to India.
The variation in the time-zone could hit the TRP rates as fans in this cricket loving nation would likely not be able to view the matches due to abnormal timings.
Sources also said though a number of former cricketers had applied for the job of India's head coach, it was mainly a race between former team India Director Ravi Shastri and Anil Kumble.
However, keeping in view a number of factors and the BCCI's Cricket Advisory Committee's (CAC) recommendation, which included Sourav Ganguly, Sachin Tendulkar, VVS Laxman and Sanjay Jagdale as the co-ordinator, the board finally handed the top post to Kumble.Â
