Indo-Pak clash for gold in hockey
India will look to avenge their defeat in the group stage when they meet Pakistan again, this time in the gold medal match in the South Asian Games hockey competition on Friday

India booked a place in the final after a 3-0 win over Sri Lanka on Wednesday night with an attacking performance in a must win match. India had earlier lost to Pakistan 1-2 in the group match.Â
In the match against Sri Lanka, Gagandeep Singh drew first blood with a field goal in the 11th minute. India pressed hard for the second goal and earned a penalty-corner a minute just before the half-time. Gaganpreet Singh put the ball past the Sri Lankan goalkeeper as India led 2-0 at half time.
 India in their urge to score another goal penetrated the Sri Lankan circle on numerous occasions and finally a penalty-corner was converted in the 64th minute by Gaganpreet Singh.
