Indo-Pak clash for gold in hockey

India booked a place in the final after a 3-0 win over Sri Lanka on Wednesday night with an attacking performance in a must win match. India had earlier lost to Pakistan 1-2 in the group match. 

In the match against Sri Lanka, Gagandeep Singh drew first blood with a field goal in the 11th minute. India pressed hard for the second goal and earned a penalty-corner a minute just before the half-time. Gaganpreet Singh put the ball past the Sri Lankan goalkeeper as India led 2-0 at half time.

 India in their urge to score another goal penetrated the Sri Lankan circle on numerous occasions and finally a penalty-corner was converted in the 64th minute by Gaganpreet Singh.
