Murray is Brit when he wins, Scottish when he loses

The man who was part of the team that won the Davis Cup has now played in five Australian Open Finals and lost every single one.

Only his former coach Ivan Lendl has lost as many at one grand slam and he at least wedged three US Open titles in between the defeats. Perhaps, even more painful for Andy Murray is the fact four of those defeats have now come at the hands of Novak Djokovic.

As hard as Murray fought, the 2016 final was a pretty one-sided affair. How did the people of Britain react to their No1’s latest heart-breaking loss? How did they seek to console perhaps their greatest living sportsman? With the same old, highly predictable questioning of his actual nationality.

Whe he loses British Twitter calls him a Scottish national. To his credit Murray, who beat Djokovic to win the US Open and Wimbledon titles and probably would have claimed several more but for Djokovic.
