Tenali Raman was one among the eight advisors of Sri Krishna Devaraya, the emperor of Vizayanagra. Devaraya had a special kind of brinjal plants in his garden and the curry made of it was very tasty. Once, Tenali Rama stole three brinjals from the emperor’s garden and ate the curry with his family. As he was scared his son might share the story of the tasty curry with anyone, he decided to play a trick. He poured a bucket of water on the child who was sleeping on the roof and told him it’s raining. Later Tenali gave him the curry and sent him to sleep.

The next day, the emperor came to know about the theft and called Tenali and son to enquire about it. When the child was asked, he said It started to rain when he was sleeping on the roof and that’s when he ate the brinjal curry. The emperor thought the kid might have dreamed as there was no rain the previous day. However, later Tenali Raman told the truth and was pardoned by the emperor for his clever idea.

Moral: To start with – Stealing is not a good thing!  You can always use your brain and ease out of the difficult situations
