Declutter your life, get rid of negativity

To be born as a human on earth is a blessing based on many past lives. It is only from the human form that one can reach the formless form.

Having achieved this divine gift, life cannot be spent discussing others and their mistakes. One should rather focus on what needs to be done/ not done by oneself in life. Failing to do this isn’t merely a waste of time, it’s a waste of life. Not everyone can live life with Divine awareness. But every one of us can live life without hanging on to negativity or letting negativity be hooked on to you.

I will discuss a simple but powerful principle of getting rid of negativity. It requires minimal effort on one’s part and produces amazing results once applied to daily life.

Declutter: Declutter isn’t just keeping clean but preparing a space to receive positive energy.

‘Decluttering is removing all non-essential things both from the body and the mind’ and is the highest discipline to eliminate negativity and receive positivity in life. As a small beginning, remove all unwanted SMS and WhatsApp messages from your mobile phone. Deleting even one unwanted message is an effort toward decluttering. Similarly, ask yourself if you can remove something unwanted from your physical space, from your table, from your car etc.

Everyone knows the corrective action to be taken, but the difference lies in the ability to take instant and immediate corrective action.

Doing what needs to be done takes you a step closer to Divinity and is as important as meditation and prayers. The shastras say ‘cleanliness is close to Godliness’. In reality, God says, ‘Godliness is next to cleanliness’. When you keep things clean and uncluttered, there is a sense of self-satisfaction that can be experienced, not explained.

Decluttering is essential for one to focus on work with fullest ability and involvement. Being cluttered with unwanted physical and mental possessions will never allow a person to realise his fullest potential.

On the non-physical plane, meditation helps declutter the mind of unwanted thoughts and fears. But one has immediate control on the physical. And hence, highest importance is given to decluttering the physical, to bring out the best of your non-physical inner self.

Wishing you a life of peace, success and happiness.
