You are the vehicle of your spiritual life
It is a common understanding that God and religion are inseparable. That to realise God, one needs to be associated with some religion. However, religion is not a podium to preach about God, but a system created to experience God.
Chennai
Unfortunately, it is both misinterpreted and misunderstood. Following religion to experience God needs the fundamental understanding of three key aspects required of oneself, to experience the supreme self. And they are equal and with conscious attention to the Body, Mind and the Soul. Â
I shall explain it with a metaphor we all understand well— a car. What does it need to run? The right fuel, well-working engine and parts; and finally, an able driver without which a car cannot move forward. Here, your body is the car, the fuel your food, and the one that drives the body, your atman. Food is the primary requirement for one to maintain the body properly, in order to reach the state where the source of all creation can be experienced.Â
It is an irony that our every movement happens with our permission and instruction, but we still fail to take care of how we fuel our body, and yet, expect it to run fine. Just think. How can a petrol car function if you fill the tank with kerosene? You will agree with me that there is no God, no ritual and no temple that can make a car run without the right fuel and service.Â
It is a sin to expect God to take care of our body when He has endowed us with the capability and the resources to do it ourselves. Fuelling the body with the right food and servicing it with sleep and exercise is service to God. Once this primary requirement is fulfilled, one can connect with the supreme driving force for a life free of hurdles. Connecting with the one who is the driving force behind your vehicle and fuel is atma-dhyana.Â
Remember, even with the best car and the best fuel, without a good driver, one cannot move even an inch. Connecting with the supreme self, you discover miraculous possibilities in life because you are not only in touch with the atman, but also, are in absolute alignment with the power that is the source of infinite intelligence and limitless possibility. Â
If one is determined to bring positive changes in life, the accumulation of knowledge and experience are unnecessary. What is needed is a commitment to function with awareness. Awareness of food consumed, awareness of thoughts thought, awareness of the self and a commitment to unfailingly service the body to serve the divine within. Meditate to connect and take care of your life’s driver. You will then know that the universe is waiting to serve you to ensure that you experience only success in every aspect of your life.Â
Wishing you a life of peace, success and happiness Aham Brahmasmi!!Â
