Life lessons: True prosperity comes when you help others

A farmer grew the best corn in the area and always won the first prize in agriculture contests. People flocked from everywhere to see his rich harvest every year. He was the centre of attraction for all during the harvest time.

A reporter learnt that the farmer also shared his best seeds with his neighbours.

Intrigued, the reporter asked the farmer, “ Why would you share your best seeds with others?” The farmer smiled and said, “ During the season, when a strong wind blows across the fields, the pollen from ripening corn swirls across the fields. If my neighbour has poor quality corn, in the cross-pollination, my crop too would become weak over a period of time and degrade in a short span of time.

It is in my interest to take care of my neighbours’ produce too.” 

Moral: Help your neighbour if you want to prosper.
