Chennai
A young man was desperate to find employment. When he learnt of an opening for an office boy, he promptly applied for a job in that firm.
At the interview, he answered all the questions politely. The HR person said, “You are hired. Give me your e-mail ID.” The man said, “Sorry Sir, I do not own a computer nor do I have an e-mail account.” The HR man said, “Sorry without an e-mail ID we cannot hire you in this tech company.” The man left, feeling terrible. Walking towards the market, he found a crate of tomato selling for Rs 50. On the spur of the moment, he bought one crate, and began selling them door to door. Within an hour he had sold all the tomatoes and made a profit of Rs 50.
This continued for a week and the man realised he could make a living with door-to-door sales.
Soon he invested in a cart. As profits grew, he bought a truck. Within 5 years, he branched into fleet sales as well, while retaining his fruit and vegetable business. Impressed by his growth, an insurance agent sold him a life policy. While filling the form, the agent asked him for his e-mail ID. The man replied, “I do not have an e-mail ID.” Taken aback, the insurance salesman wondered aloud, “What would you have become if you had had an email ID?” Promptly, the man replied, “An office boy.”
MORAL: Do not be discouraged if something does not work out today. Better opportunities await you
