Why your body is a temple
Health isn’t maintained just by the process of proper circulation. Adequate detoxification and purification are also important.
Chennai
Your body is the only temple for the dwelling of divine power!
Each of us has been gifted this beautiful body, with its wonderful mechanisms which function with no involvement or intervention from us. One needn’t know the pressure with which the heart circulates blood, the force with which kidneys expel waste fluids or the speed with which carbon dioxide is eliminated from the body. This knowledge isn’t necessary; but we have been given the responsibility to maintain the condition in which our body functions, without discomfort and to its fullest capacity.
It is common knowledge that 80 per cent of the body is made up of fluids. Today, I shall focus on liquid foods that maintain the 80 per cent of the body’s fluid part with health, strength and energy and act as fuel for the entire body to maintain good health.
Health isn’t maintained just by the process of proper circulation. Adequate detoxification and purification are also important. Purification is making a resource fit for use before it is used and detoxification is the process of elimination of waste after the resource is used.
The heart, lungs, kidneys and intestines are four crucial organs involved in purification and detoxification of the body. For an individual to enjoy a lifetime of health, waste accumulation should never occur in these four organs.
Citric juice: A citric juice like an orange, grape or sweet lime should be consumed in the morning. It helps maintain acid levels lower than the alkaline level in the body and aids in maintaining proper digestion of food consumed in the day.
Jeera water: Seeragam or jeera water is an elixir of life. Hence the Tamil name seeragam —that which cleanses the internal body. One liter of jeera water should be consumed in one day. This helps one maintain optimum fluid levels in the body.
Kadukkai (harde or haritaki): Before bed have a teaspoon of kadukkai powder or crushed kadukkai in 100 ml of lukewarm water. Kadukkai ensures elimination of cholesterol from the body. These three simple disciplines, followed regularly, go a long way in keeping one healthy.
Why does one need a healthy body? Not for health alone, but to enjoy the experiences you want in life; the primary need is a healthy body. All your learning and the expression of that knowledge too is next to impossible, when you are not healthy.
The core requirement for a good life is simple— a healthy body. Take the essential effort to maintain good health and life will gift you with all you want faster and far more easily than you can imagine. Real devotion is respecting life by taking care of life, and your life is in your body. Wishing you a life of health and happiness.
