    Stop suffering, raise your consciousness

Knowledge is only for human beings. We want knowledge on everything. Our search for God is also as knowledge; and ultimately we know about God but do not know God. And our knowledge tells us that God is kind, merciful, protective etc.

When a person speaks about God, it means he has experienced, is experiencing or fears that he will experience in future, a situation he is unable to handle. This is what we call a problem; a situation one does not know the answer to. If the solution is known, it is no more a problem.

However, know that there is no such thing as a problem, that which is a problem for one might not be a problem for another. It is human tendency that only when there is a problem or suffering we consider God. Due to conditioning of society and religious beliefs you think God will handle the situation you are unable to.

As the Buddha says, that is not the truth. The profound teaching of Buddha is that instead of thinking of God when in suffering, ask yourself “Who is suffering”? Find out then, what is suffering and who is suffering. When you find who is suffering, you will realise it is not you who are suffering, because you are God itself.

It is your knowledge telling you that you are suffering. But is it possible for everyone to realise they are God? Yes it is, and that’s called awakening. Awakening is not human beings seeking a spiritual experience. Instead, it is realising we are spiritual beings, stuck in human experience.

At the very moment of this realisation, your suffering has to dissolve. Because the situation you thought as a problem remains the same but you have raised yourself to the level where the problem is no more a problem for you. Let me give you a simple example that explains this.

Consider a glass of water with a spoonful of salt in it. If you taste the water it is salty, and it is salty for everyone. Now consider the same spoonful of salt in a bucket of water, the water is salty but only slightly. The same salt in a lake of water is insignificant. The salt is your problem and the water is your consciousness.

The salt may remain the same but you will raise your consciousness to the level where the problem is no more a problem. This understanding keeps one from all suffering and brings the realisation all life is an offering. Every human needs to assimilate this understanding to experience real success and permanent happiness. Wishing you a life full of peace, joy, and success. Aham Brahmasmi!!
