SHANGHAI: China's new commercial password management regulation will be effective from July 1, the state council said on Wednesday.

The revised draft rule was approved at a cabinet meeting on April 14, which urged platform companies to ensure the safety of personal privacy, commercial secrets and sensitive government data.
