Submit audited statements: Bedi

In a WhatsApp message in connection with the budget exercise taken up by Chief Minister V Narayanasamy, who is holding the finance portfolio, here on Thursday the Lt Governor said that it should be ensured that all government departments and related Public Sector Undertakings, Societies among others should submit their duly audited statements without any further delay.

It should be ensured that the government staff be budgeted along with their salaries, their dues eligible for 2019-20, their pensions, gratuities, Provident Fund and encashment of leave salaries on retirement.

The Lt Governor said that she has seen many retired personnel suffering for timely release of pensions and other allowances.

Bedi also suggested that repayment of pending bills be listed out and necessary steps be taken to honour the commitment of the government.

She also wanted the return of provident fund of employees wherever diverted and added that such diversion calls for criminal liabilities. These are mandatory for budget preparation, the LT Governor said.
